Vinification

Traditional red wine vinification with prolonged contact between the skins and the must; there is frequent pumping over in the first few days of maceration, reduced to 2 in the final week.

Maturation

The wine matures for 12 months in oak barrels and for a further 6 months in bottle prior to release.

Tasting note

A substantial and very expressive wine, it has a deep ruby red colour and a broad, complex bouquet, with notes of red berry fruits accompanied by mellow spices and an intriguing vegetal and even slightly leathery tone. It is extremely elegant on the palate, displaying dense, concentrated tannins which, along with just the right amount of well-balanced acidity, serve to underpin the sweet, ripe fruit.
