ANNO DI FONDAZIONEMid-19th century
The Quercecchio winery belongs to Grazia Salvoni. The estate spreads over 230 hectares of woodlands, pastures, cultivated fields, olive groves and vineyards and is located in the south of Montalcino. The vines are planted at an altitude of 320 m above sea level: 9 hectares are exclusively dedicated to the Sangiovese grapes for the production of Brunello di Montalcino wine, while 1 hectare is for the Rosso di Montalcino. The remaining Sangiovese grapes are blended with other international varieties to produce the I.G.P Rosso Toscano. Thanks to the ideal composition of the terrain (clayey and sandy) and the highly favourable micro-climate, the high quality grapes’ produced, in turn, wines of an elevated quality. The Quercecchio estate also produces fine extra-virgin olive oil made with different varieties of olives: leccino, olivastro and moraiolo. Furthermore the Quercecchio firm owns a very charming agriturismo, which is situated in the midst of the countryside of Montalcino.
